Telecom Lead Team: Bharti Airtel continues to lead the revenue market in Indian
telecom. Bharti Airtel, according to TRAI, clocked Rs 10,077 crore revenue in quarter
ended September 2011. The revenues of other top mobile operators are given at
the end of the article.
According
to TRAI, telecom services sector in India has registered gross revenue of Rs
49,942 crore in quarter ending September 2011, by registering 19.21 percent
growth as compared to the same quarter previous year.
Gross
revenue (GR) and adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of telecom service sector for the
quarter ending September 2011 has been Rs 49,942 crore and Rs 33,460 crore
respectively, according to TRAI.
There
has been an increase of 6.51 percent and 2.67 percent in GR and AGR
respectively as compared to previous quarter. The year-on-year growth in GR and
AGR over the same quarter in last year has been 19.21 percent and 12.52 percent
respectively.
Pass-through
charges accounted for 33.0 percent of the GR for the quarter ending Sep-11. The
quarterly and the year-on-year (Y-O-Y) growth rates of pass-through charges for
QE Sep-11 are 15.24 percent and 35.54 percent respectively.
Average
license fee as percentage of AGR is 8.30 percent in QE Sep-11 as against 8.28
percent in previous quarter. The quarterly and the year-on-year growth rates of
the average license fee for QE Sep-11 are 2.84 percent and 12.27 percent
respectively.
Access
services contributed 73.04 percent of the total revenue of telecom services. In
Access services GR, AGR, License Fee & spectrum Charges increased by 2.52
percent, 0.96 percent, 1.15 percent & 0.17 percent respectively in the
quarter ending Sep-11 vis-Ã -vis previous quarter.
