Telecom network operator TeliaSonera announced the appointment of Anders Olsson as chief operating officer (COO) and head of Global Services and Operations.

Most recently, Anders Olsson worked at Tele2 as executive vice president Strategic Projects. Anders Olsson joined Tele2 as a management trainee in 1997.

“Anders Olsson has a long career in a successful company and his leadership and experience will be very valuable in the next phase of shaping of TeliaSonera,” said Johan Dennelind, president and CEO of TeliaSonera.

The appointment of Anders Olsson is part of TeliaSonera’s strategy to combine the technology and commercial groups into a Global Services and Operations (GSO) unit from January 1, 2016.

TeliaSonera says GSO will be responsible for creating new businesses, exploring potential revenue streams and long term investment opportunities.
