Telecom Lead India: Uninor, the Indian subsidiary of Telenor, has posted 3.1 percent increase in third quarter revenues to 863 million Norwegian crowns from 837 million Norwegian crowns in the same quarter last year.
This is despite Uninor reducing its telecom business significantly in India following the spectrum controversies.
On Wednesday, Telenor, which has over 150 million subscribers across Europe and Asia, said earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 6.1 percent to 8.796 billion crowns ($1.53 billion).
Total revenues increased to 25,253 million Norwegian crowns from 24,631 million Norwegian crowns.
Telenor also slightly lowered its full-year revenue growth guidance to around 4 percent, from a previous target for above 4 percent, according to a report in Reuters.
Telenor reported the following revenues and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) by division for the third quarter. The figures are compared to the same period a year earlier and against analysts’ average forecasts (in millions of Norwegian crowns).
