Telenor elects Gunn Wærsted as chair

Telenor ASA has elected Gunn Wærsted as chair of the Board of Directors. She will assume her position on 14 January 2016.

The Corporate Assembly of Telenor ASA has elected Gunn Wærsted (60) as chair based on the recommendation by the Nomination Committee that has conducted a thorough assessment of potential candidates for the role as chair of the Board of Directors of Telenor.

Gunn Wærsted is executive vice president and member of the Group Executive Management in Nordea Bank and Country Senior Executive in Nordea Bank Norway.

Today, Telenor announced its 200 million customer mark in 13 markets, including a strong position in the home market.

“I am looking forward to continue Telenor’s fantastic growth and value creation. As the new chair of the Board I will familiarize myself with the opportunities and challenges the company is facing, as well as getting to know the board, the management and the company,” said Gunn Wærsted.
