Telenet Wi-Fi Business selects Benu Networks

Benu Networks announced that Telenet, the largest provider of cable broadband services in Belgium, has selected its Virtual Service Edge (VSE) platform for the delivery of managed service offerings for the SOHO and SME markets.
Telenet WiFi BusinessTelenet’s managed offerings address business priorities such as guest connectivity, device level visibility, and security by supplying IT support and cybersecurity at affordable rates to SOHO/SME customers.

SOHO/SME customers, which account for 99.8 percent of Belgium enterprises, will be using Telenet’s Wi-Fi Business offering, to set up multiple networks that are public for patrons and private for employees.

Telenet’s Wi-Fi Business is offering a template-driven, user portal empowering small business managers to enhance engagement with patrons in multiple areas, including Facebook check in, loyalty programs, and targeted promotions.

In addition, the service is in line with the new privacy guidelines – GDPR — that will come into effect in May 2018.

Telenet Business department, which serves the business market in Belgium and Luxembourg, is selling Telenet’s new Wi-Fi Business service to its customers.

Stijn Vander Plaetse, vice president, Product & Marketing, Telenet Business, said by moving key network functions to the cloud, this Benu Networks’ architecture enables the company to add new services efficiently – seamlessly on top of its existing infrastructure.

Telenet said its telecom engineers selected Benu Networks’ Virtual Service Edge (VSE) platform, which uses existing customer premises equipment (CPE)/IT infrastructure, to provide the new managed service to enterprise customers.

The VSE virtual software solution running on VMware network functions virtualization infrastructure (NFVI) empowers Telenet to win within a competitive market with the service agility on par with over-the-top (OTT) providers, but with greater customer satisfaction and quality of experience (QoE) controls.

Mads Lillelund, CEO of Benu Networks, said: “Our Virtual Service Edge provides Telenet with the ability to address future market needs by launching additional revenue generating services from the platform.”
