T-Mobile added 2.1 million customers in the fourth quarter of 2016, bringing its total customer base to 71.5 million in 2016.

This marks the fifteenth consecutive quarter that T-Mobile has generated more than 1 million net customer additions. Full-year 2016 marked the third consecutive year that T-Mobile added more than 8 million net customers.

T-Mobile will release its full financial results for the fourth quarter and full-year 2016 in early February 2017.

AT&T Inc. is expected to report earnings on January 25, 2017 after market close. The report will be for the fiscal quarter ending December 2016.

Verizon Communications’ Q4 2016 earnings release and quarterly financial statements will be available on January 24, 2017.

Sprint Corporation is estimated to report earnings on January 24, 2017.

The stunning performance by T-Mobile indicates that rivals such as AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless have suffered in the fourth quarter of 2016. T-Mobile has been aggressive in its pricing strategy to add customer base.

“In 2016, for the third year in a row – we added more than 8 million total customers with more than 2 million customers in Q4,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile.
