Telecom Lead Middle East: In line with efforts to widen a
strategic partnership between STC and Telecom Egypt, Tareq Al-Alam, CEO,
Telecom Egypt, held talks with Saud Al-Daweesh, CEO, STC group, at STC
headquarters in Riyadh.
Both companies have been considered pioneers in
telecommunication particularly the sea cabling services. These scheduled
meetings demonstrate the STC Group’s prominent position.
The companies discussed ways of developing a mutual
collaborative relationship, especially in international land line traffic,
capacity, and mutual projects regarding sea cabling.
STC has reached this status through its achievements and turning points in all
fields, especially in the international network field – considered the best and
the latest in the Middle East. The group also maintains its market leadership
and distinctiveness.
The STC group is committed to developing its relationship
with the operators in the region to offer STC customers with top quality
services and open new horizons in the telecommunication industry.
Nokia Siemens selected by Saudi Telecom to expand GSM, 3G and
4G
Recently, Saudi Telecom (STC) selected wireless
equipment from Nokia Siemens Networks to expand its GSM, 3G and 4G across the
Kingdom.
The agreement includes modernizing administrative
system’s network, which has been deployed by STC to effectively monitor, manage
and operate GSM networks, especially 3G and 4G.
With more and more subscribers using bandwidth-intensive
applications for smart phones, STC decided to modernize its existing GSM and 3G
networks.
