Spectrum auction on Day 1: complete status report from DoT

DoT said telecom operators have completed seven rounds of bidding on day one i.e. February 3 with Delhi receiving the highest bid at Rs 428.92 crore per block and Mumbai at 473.24 crore for the 900 MHz band.

Lowest bid price was for Jammu & Kashmir circle at Rs 1.02 crore.

Operators submitted bids for both the 1800 MHz and 900 MHz bands, according to information available on the website of Department of Telecom (DoT).

Eight telecom service providers are bidding to buy additional air waves to improve network and expand their coverage area.

The demand for Mumbai and Delhi circles is significant thanks to the needy Airtel and Vodafone. The presence of Reliance Jio Infocomm is also adding heat to the auction. Mumbai metro circle received preliminary bid price of Rs 473.24 crore, while Delhi bid price was Rs 428.92 crore. The bid price for Kolkata was Rs 173.16 crore. These are initial status. Auction will continue tomorrow.

Demand for 1800 MHz

Andhra Pradesh telecom circle received bid at Rs 32.60 crore per block.

The spectrum bid price for Assam was Rs 1.40 crore.

Bihar telecom circle received bid price of Rs 7.99 crore.

For the 1800 MHz band, Delhi attracted bid price of Rs 43.80 crore.

Gujarat received bid price of Rs 29.74 crore.

Mobile service providers submitted Rs 5.40 crore bid for Haryana telecom circle.

The bid for Himachal Pradesh came in at Rs 1.20 crore.

Jammu & Kashmir bid price was Rs 1.02 crore.

Karnataka attracted bid price of Rs 31.00 crore, the government said on Monday.

Spectrum bid price for Kerala was Rs 10.40 crore.

Kolkata received bid at Rs 14.60 crore.

The bid price for Madhya Pradesh was Rs 8.60 crore.

Maharashtra, excluding Mumbai, received bids at Rs 34.60 crore.

The Mumbai circle with the 1800 MHz band attracted initial bid price of Rs 41.40 crore.

North East received bids at Rs 1.40 crore.

Orissa received bids at Rs 3.20 crore.

Punjab attracted bids at Rs 10.80 crore.

The bid for Rajasthan was at Rs 5.20 crore.

Telecom operator bid for Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, at Rs 41.60 crore.

While Uttar Pradesh (East) attracted bid price of Rs 12.56 crore, bid price for Uttar Pradesh (West) was Rs 13.27 crore.

West Bengal, excluding Kolkata, attracted bid price of Rs 4.28 crore.

If there is no revised bid tomorrow, the final price will be the same as above.
