SK Telecom is planning a Capex of KRW 2 trillion or $1.66 billion in 2016 against KRW 1,891.3 billion investment in 2015.
The Korean telecoms is targeting consolidated revenue of KRW 17.6 trillion excluding the impact of the acquisition of CJ Hellovision in 2016.
SK Telecom’s LTE penetration stands at around 66 percent, which is significantly lower compared to around 80 percent levels of its competitors, analysts point out during a briefing.
The number of SK Telecom’s LTE subscribers marked 18.98 million, taking up over 66.3 percent of the company’s total mobile subscriber base. In terms of data usage per user, SK Telecom’s number stands at about 3.9 gigabytes.
SK Telecom revenue fell 0.2 percent to KRW 17,136.7 billion in 2015 and increased 2.8 percent to KRW 4,379.3 billion in Q4 from the previous quarter, mainly due to revenue growth of subsidiaries including SK Planet and SK Broadband.
Net income of SK Telecom fell 15.8 percent to KRW 1,515.9 billion in 2015 and dipped 23.1 percent to KRW 293.5 billion for the fourth quarter.
