Sicap inks mobile device management deal with O2 

Sicap Schweiz announced its mobile device management deal with O2, a telecom service provider in the Czech Republic.
O2 Czech RepublicO2 will utilize Sicap’s Mobile Device Management Centre (DMC) to offer automated mobile device configuration to its subscribers with a faster problem resolution from its customer care centers.

O2 network serves 5 million of mobile subscriptions in Czech Republic. GSMA says high speed mobile broadband penetration on 3G and 4G technologies, is currently more than 90 percent in Czech Republic.

The number of subscribers using a 4G/LTE handset has grown by 50 percent on the O2 Czech network during the past one year.

“Sicap Device Management Centre supports our growth strategy by automatically connecting data users on our network, without burdening the customer care center with handset configuration problems,” Jakub Votava, director for Network Architecture and Development at O2 Czech, said.

“For Sicap, the co-operation with an operator such as O2 Czech is a strength, as our Device Management business gets prepared to serve the growing numbers of VoLTE roll-outs in Europe,” Magnus Moller Petersen, executive vice president, Sales and Marketing at Sicap Schweiz, said.
