In celebration of its Centenary, Telefonica is set to dazzle audiences at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona from February 26 to 29. Under the theme “100 Years Leading Change,” Telefonica will showcase its latest innovations, offering attendees a glimpse into the future of telecommunications and technology.
One of the highlights of Telefonica’s presence at MWC24 will be its ‘Virtual Stand,’ allowing visitors to experience an immersive tour in real-time. Utilizing computer, mobile phone, or Meta Quest virtual reality glasses, attendees can engage with Telefonica’s offerings, participate in Agora talks, view live demos, and interact with digital experts to address queries and concerns.
For those unable to attend in person, Telefonica offers an alternative through the ‘Living App MWC24’ on Movistar Plus+. This platform enables users to stream live Agora presentations on their TVs and access exclusive multimedia content related to the event, ensuring a comprehensive experience for remote participants.
The exhibition space will feature state-of-the-art technology from Canadian company C2R0, integrated into Telefonica Tech’s solution portfolio. This technology facilitates real-time video analytics powered by Artificial Intelligence, enabling Telefonica to monitor and analyze stand activity continuously. This data-driven approach aids in understanding customer behavior and optimizing operational efficiency, ultimately enhancing the overall customer experience.
Telefonica’s stand will be divided into three demo zones, each focusing on different aspects of innovation. The ‘Telefonica Open Gateway’ demo will illustrate how networks can evolve into developer-friendly platforms, driving digital service innovation. The ‘Telefonica Edge Haptic Arena’ will showcase a groundbreaking video game concept merging extended reality, 5G, edge computing, and haptic technology for an unparalleled gaming experience.
Furthermore, the ‘Smart Industry: Leading the Change’ demo will highlight Telefonica’s expertise in developing fully automated, digitized, and secure industrial processes. Combining advanced technologies such as 5G, edge computing, OT cybersecurity, big data analytics, artificial vision, and blockchain, Telefonica will demonstrate an automated printing process with real-time product traceability.
In collaboration with Matsuko and NVIDIA, Telefonica will also present a spatial computing experience for holographic meetings, enabling seamless real-time collaboration as if participants were physically present as holograms.
