MTS names new VPs for digital and procurement

MTS announced changes to senior management positions as part of the strategy to improve focus on digital business and procurement.
MTS 5G in RussiaValery Shorzhin is the vice president, Digital Business Solutions at MTS. Valery Shorzhin, the earlier head of procurement unit, will help MTS to make technological leaps in business development.

Valery Shorzhin joined MTS in 2008 as director of IT. He served as director of Procurement Management from 2010 to 2014. MTS in 2014 appointed Valery Shorzhin as vice president for Procurement and Administration.

Alexey Goryachkin will take over the position of vice president, Procurement and Administration at MTS. Alexey Goryachkin joined MTS in 2010 as director for Converged and Transport Networks. MTS in 2018 appointed him as director for Procurement.

MTS has terminated the position of vice president, Financial Technologies due to the fact that Maxim Yanpolsky has been appointed managing partner at AFK Sistema.

Alexander Gorbunov, vice president, Strategy and Development will now be also responsible for the segment of Financial Technologies.

“Given the importance of digital product development and implementation for MTS, we have decided to concentrate our digital innovation efforts in a separate management unit overseen by a dedicated vice president,” Alexey Kornya, president and chief executive officer of MTS, said.
