Indonesian mobile operator XL taps Huawei for managed services

By Telecom Lead Team: PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL) of
Indonesia has partnered with Huawei for managing its telecommunications
network.

 

Taking responsibility for the multi-vendor and
multi-technology network, the scope of work include network management
including multi-vendor operations and maintenance, network performance
management, field operations, 24/7 network assurance, spare parts management
and customer problem management.

 

This strategic agreement with Huawei allows us to focus
on our core business to offer new and innovative services whilst improving the
network quality.  This will allow us to differentiate ourselves to
compete successfully in the market and help us address the future challenges,”
said Hasnul Suhaimi, president Director, XL.

 

This agreement allows XL to offer better network and
service quality to its fast growing over 40 million customers base whilst
Huawei manages the network.

 

As part of the 7-year agreement, over 1,200 employees
will be transferred to Huawei.

 

Huawei’s leading edge Managed Services Unified Platform
(MSUP) which encompasses people, process and tools has the full capability to
address XL’s unique needs and support its vision to bring affordable and
new value-added services to its customers,” said Li Wenzhi, CEO, Huawei Indonesia.
