Telecom Lead India: Idea
cellular has posted revenues of Rs 55,382 million for the first quarter of FY 2013,
up 21.6 percent, as compared with Rs 45,519 million for the same quarter a year
ago.
The company’s consolidated net profit stood at Rs 234.1
crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2012, up 32 percent, as compared to
Rs 177.3 crore in the same period last year.
The company’s -Average Realization Per Minute’ (ARPM) dipped
by 2.3 percent to 41.2p in comparison to 42.2p in Q4FY12.
The company revealed that its non-voice revenue has
increased and contributes to 14.5 percent of total service revenue.
Over the last one year, the absolute EBITDA stood at Rs.
12,889 million, up 20.8 percent from Rs. 10,666 million in Q1FY12.
During the quarter, Idea has generated Cash Profit of Rs.
10,502 million.
The company said that its revenue performance of last two
quarters has slowed down on sequential quarterly basis to only 2.5 percent
revenue growth, due to introduction of -Telecom Consumer Protection Regulation’
and bleak market battle for supremacy.
Idea Cellular announced that it has strengthened its
competitive standing to 15 percent Revenue Market Share (RMS) in Q4FY12, an
improvement of 1.4 percent during last one year.
Idea recorded cumulative net gain of 3.5 million n customers
(as on July 10, 2012) from other operators. Furthermore, Idea’s active 3G
subscriber base has now expanded to 3.1 million.
The company said that its minutes’ growth is stable at 5.3
percent generating 131 billion minutes compared to 124 billion minutes in
Q4FY12. The minute growth was supported by 3.1 million VLR subscriber additions
during the quarter.
