The network modernization program will support the government’s initiative to improve tourism in Palawan.

“Building new sites in different parts of the country is in support of our initiative to continuously expand our network presence, providing a robust and reliable network, which in turn, will further enhance service performance,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President and Head of Service Management Division, Network Technical Group.

Globe has completed the 400-kilometer submarine fiber optic backbone between the province and the main island of Luzon, strengthening Palawan’s connectivity with the entire country and the rest of the world.

The transmission system using fiber optic technology and dense wave division multiplexing (DWDM) system enables Globe Telecom to offer better internet connection to meet growing bandwidth data requirements from smartphone users.
