Globe Telecom achieves Capex to revenue ratio of 28% in 2015

Globe Telecom today said it has achieved Capex to revenue ratio of 28 percent in 2015 and 27 percent in 2014.

The Capex of the local telecom industry averaged 23 percent in 2015 and 2014.

Capex to revenue ratio in China was 36 percent in 2015 and 33 percent in 2014. Three leading telecoms in China include China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom.

Capex of telecoms in Singapore was 26 percent (22 percent) in 2015, Indonesia 24 percent (26 percent), Thailand 23 percent (21 percent), India 17 percent (16 percent), Taiwan 14 percent (16 percent), Hong Kong 13 percent (14 percent) and Malaysia 13 percent (12 percent).

“Over the past several years, we have invested in our network to enable our customers to enjoy their digital lifestyle and empower businesses with digital capabilities, enhance their productivity and make globally competitive,” said Globe Telecom President and CEO Ernest Cu.

Globe Telecom earmarks up to 24 percent of annual revenues for telecom infrastructure in the Philippines.

Since 2011, Globe Telecom invested over $2.2 billion in its network and IT infrastructure to enhance the telecom service provider’s data network capacities.

In November 2015, Globe Telecom signed a five-year deal with Huawei Technologies to enhance and expand the mobile network.
