BSNL adds Oracle’s technology workshop in training program

The state-run BSNL has tied up with Oracle to add Oracle’s technology workshop in BSNL’s summer vocational training program for engineering students.

Last year, 100,000 students across India were trained through BSNL programs.

Oracle claims that this is the first time that BSNL has engaged with an external organisation such as Oracle.

BSNL’s telecom technology programs for engineering students during their summer vacations are aimed at providing exposure to relevant telecom technology trends and practices.

These programs are co-ordinated through various training centers of BSNL.

Neeraj Verma, general manager – Training, BSNL, said, “Our engagement with Oracle is an important initiative that will help supplement our efforts in building a skilled workforce for the telecom sector in India.”

BSNL’s course content will include a one-day programme conducted by Oracle on upcoming technology trends.

The focus areas will be IT trends in enterprise application, structured & unstructured analytics and its applicability in telecom domain, customer experience management and the role of social media in telecom and trends in storage and server technology.

In the first phase, the workshops will be held at BSNL training centres in Ghaziabad, Pune, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata from June to August 2013.

BSNL will connect students in other centres/field units to these workshops via web platform. Last year, over 100,000 students across India got associated with the summer programme from BSNL, via multiple platforms.
