Airtel prepays Rs 8,325 crore to clear high cost deferred liabilities for spectrum

Bharti Airtel, a top telecommunications service provider in India, has announced the prepayment of Rs. 8,325 crore to the Department of Telecom (Government of India).

This substantial payment is directed towards the partial settlement of deferred liabilities associated with the spectrum acquired during the auction held in the year 2015. The deferred liabilities were subject to an interest cost of 10 percent.
