For comparison, Vodafone Idea has 13.026 million mobile phone customers on its 4G network in Kerala at the end of 2024. Reliance Jio has 10.715 million mobile phone customers in Kerala. The state-run BSNL has 8.73 million subscribers in Kerala.

The investment in mobile network in Kerala assumes significance because the latest TRAI data indicated that mobile number portability (MNP) requests in Kerala have touched 25.65 million at the end of December 2024.

Gokul J, COO – Airtel Kerala, emphasized Airtel’s commitment to providing superior network experiences and continued investment in advanced technologies. The expansion has led to improved browsing speeds, enhanced voice quality, and seamless coverage across highways, airports, ports, railway stations, and major tourist destinations.

Airtel received top recognition from Opensignal, leading in categories such as video experience, live video streaming, gaming performance, and upload speeds. It was also the first to introduce 5G at Kochi’s water metro stations and has expanded coverage to destinations like Varkala’s cliffs and Munnar’s hill stations, ensuring reliable high-speed connectivity for both residents and tourists.
