Airtel hikes price of postpaid plans for retail and corporate users

Bharti Airtel, one of the leading telecom operators in India, announced new postpaid plans for retail and corporate customers — increasing the price.
Airtel mobile network IndiaAirtel’s ARPU was Rs 145 at the end of the March quarter.

The increase in tariffs for its postpaid mobile subscribers in the enterprise segment is around 50 percent.

Airtel’s postpaid plans for corporate customers will start at Rs 299 per month, up to Rs 1,599.

Airtel has discontinued the entry-level Rs 199 monthly plan as well as the Rs 249 plan and now onwards such plans will begin from Rs 299.

Airtel’s postpaid plans for retail users will start at Rs 399 per month, up to Rs 1,599.

The starting plan for retail customers continues to remain at Rs 399 a month. Airtel has dropped the Rs 749 family plan which provided two SIM connections.

The company has discontinued its Rs 749 Family Postpaid Plan for new customers and will now offer Rs 999 as the only Family Postpaid Plan with enhanced data benefits.

The Rs 999 per month plan is the new starting plan under family plan. Airtel is now providing three SIM connections under the Rs 999 per month plan as compared with four SIM connections provided earlier.

However, Airtel has increased data from 180 GB a month to 210 GB a month. The add-on SIM rate has also been hiked from Rs 249 to Rs 299 but monthly data has been increased from 10 GB to 30 GB.

The company said subscribers who used the Rs 749 family plan providing two SIM connections can still opt for the Rs 399 plan and get an add-on connection for Rs 299. A similar combination is possible on all other plans.

Customers can add a connection to any Airtel Postpaid plan at Rs 299 / SIM and get 30 GB additional data (10 GB earlier), unlimited calling and Thanks benefits.

Ajay Chitkara, Director and CEO – Airtel Business said: “Over the past few years, Airtel has made massive investments in spectrum, infrastructure and latest technologies to build a 5G ready and secure network that can support the digital transformation journeys of our customers.”

Airtel said it has further simplified its postpaid plans to offer industry-leading data benefits backed by a 5G ready network and superior digital-first customer care. The plans also come with a range of exclusive benefits such as bundled content and business productivity tools.
