Airtel appoints Rajiv Mathrani as chief brand officer

Bharti Airtel has appointed Pepsico veteran Rajiv Mathrani as chief brand officer.

At Airtel, Rajiv will lead brand positioning, strategic initiatives and associations for its India operations.

He will report to Srini Gopalan, director – Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel (India). He takes over from Mohit Beotra, who resigned from Airtel to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.

At Pepsico, Rajiv he led the snacks category and portfolio strategy for Lay’s, Kurkure, Uncle Chipps and Cheetos – and played a key role in driving strong business growth and defining master brands.

Apart from Pepsico, Rajiv has held leadership, marketing and sales roles earlier in India and other emerging markets across organizations such as Marico Industries, Citibank and Glaxo SmithKline Consumer Healthcare.
