Telecom vendor ZTE has supplied its 3G Wi-Fi Router — MF29 — to du, a mobile operator in the Middle East.

Du, which is 39.5 percent owned by Emirates Investment Authority, will benefit as the 3G router will be used by du for its Office Connect voice and broadband solutions in the UAE market

“The products support varied networks and are easy to use for our subscribers,” said Hatem Bamatraf, executive vice president, Enterprise, du.

Du has more than 6.45 million people and over 50,000 business customers as on December 2012.

Office Connect is expected to assist du to further strengthen its product and service offerings for SMEs in the UAE.

“ZTE is becoming prominent in UAE, providing terminal products to help build and sustain infrastructures,” said Aymen Smaoui, general manager, ZTE.

Besides the latest 3G router, ZTE supplied its MF668A USB modems (providing data speeds of 21Mbps) and its MF190 USB modems (providing data speeds of 7.2Mbps) in the UAE market.

The ZTE MF29 is an enhanced, integrated 3G Wi-Fi Router for business users and residential users. With maximum speeds of up to 21Mbps and plug and play functionality, the wireless broadband internet service can be used on various devices across multiple networks.
