Zong 4G selects Ericsson for telecom network expansion

Zong 4G recently announced its partnership with Ericsson to expand its network in Sindh and Baluchistan.
Zong 4G PakistanEricsson, the third largest telecom network maker in the world, will assist Zong for the rapid deployment of multiple capacity microwave links on existing Zong cellular sites and will roll out new sites to enhance the bandwidth and throughput in south region.

Zong 4G has more than 10 million customers across Pakistan. Zong 4G is the first and only 4G operator to deploy more than 10,000 4G sites across Pakistan. Zong 4G has invested more than $3 billion for mobile network infrastructure across Pakistan.

“We are rolling out the fastest network expansion plan to increase 4G footprint to empower our customers with Zong 4G’s seamless connectivity across Pakistan,” said Wang Hua, CEO of Zong 4G.

“Through our collaboration with Zong 4G for its network expansion program, we will help to advance the communications infrastructure in remote areas of Pakistan” said Waqas Naeem, president and CEO of Ericsson Pakistan.

Zong 4G, the first telecom company to deploy and cross 10,000 4G sites in Pakistan, has its 4G presence in more than 300 cities. Zong 4G plans to roll out over 5,000 4G sites in the next three years.

Earlier, Zong 4G and Huawei announced a partnership for the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data to enable Zong 4G in offering seamless connectivity and digitally enhanced solutions for its customers.
