Tech Mahindra has picked up a minority stake in global telecom technology firm Avion Systems.
Tech Mahindra and Avion Systems have also floated a new joint venture called Avion Networks to provide Network Design and Engineering Services to major Communications Service Providers.
The company did not share financial details.
The joint venture aims to play a role as a supplier to telecom Carriers in the final deployment and management of current mobile networks and their planned transformation into the next-generation cloud enabled, virtual and software driven networks.
“Avion Systems has expertise and experience in network services, an area chosen by us to invest and grow into,” Manish Vyas, president, Communications Group, Tech Mahindra.
The company would be primarily servicing the communication industry in the transformation of current mobile to a virtualized, cloud-enabled and open-systems driven network to spur rapid innovation and adoption.
