T-Mobile has selected Mavenir Systems converged IMS voice solution for launching VoLTE in the U.S.

T-Mobile was the first telecom globally to launch Wi-Fi Calling in 2011. T-Mobile leveraged investments in Wi-Fi Calling to accelerate network readiness and launch VoLTE service.

Mavenir Systems says VoLTE is on its way to becoming a globally available mass market service. 14 tier one mobile operators globally are using its VoLTE solution. Mavenir did not reveal the name of other 13 telecom operators.

Pardeep Kohli, president and chief executive officer, Mavenir Systems, said: “We are working with tier one operators globally to transform their networks to 4G LTE and introduce new and innovative services.”
