SingTel trials Ericsson’s Radio Dot System

Telecom network vendor Ericsson last week said SingTel is conducting a trial of Radio Dot System to improve the in-building mobile broadband experience in Singapore.

The strategy of SingTel is to enhance LTE and 3G network coverage into enterprise buildings and public venues.

SingTel is conducting the live trial at Changi Business Park, Singapore.

Radio Dot System

Ericsson’s Radio Dot System enables telecom operators to deliver high-performance coverage and capacity in any size or type of building. It is designed to integrate seamlessly with SingTel’s LTE and 3G networks.

“This new pilot will help us to enhance and improve SingTel customer experience in both commercial and public buildings,” said Tay Soo Meng, group chief technology officer, SingTel.

Singapore is in the top five in the world in LTE adoption and smartphone penetration.
