Telecom equipment vendor Nokia Networks has shared trends for 2014 and outlook for 2015.
“2014 has been a year of technological advancements in the country. We expect further evolution of these technologies in the coming year,” said Sandeep Girotra, VP and head of India Region, Nokia Networks.
# Though 3G will be the main vehicle of mobile data in India for next year and a half, the country will see advancement of LTE meaningfully in 2015
# In 2015, we will also see operators piloting heterogeneous network and small cell solutions to effectively manage the mobile data coverage
# We also expect transformation of pure network Managed Services to expand its scopes into end user service management and predictive operations in the coming year
# Growth of Automation and customer user analytics is another trend we foresee
# SON will make a huge difference in speed and quality in 2015
# Additionally, Analytics and Customer Experience Management (CEM) will play a key role in monetization of mobile data next year
# Evolution of Telco Cloud into commercial deployment, especially in the area of Core network will grow in 2015. We may witness initial pilots of SDN and NFV as viable cloud solutions
