LAA operated on a 5GHz unlicensed band at the 5G Tokyo Bay Summit 2015 held at the DOCOMO R&D Center in Yokosuka, Kanagawa. With the assistance of a key co-existing technology named Listen-Before-Talk (LBT), LAA can co-exist with a neighboring Wi-Fi system, while maintaining most of the performance advantages of LTE.

This live demo represents the latest joint field trial by Huawei and DOCOMO deploying LAA, which began in early 2014.
