Huawei appoints David Sun as CEO of Southeast Asia

Telecom network supplier Huawei has appointed David Sun as president and chief executive officer of the Southeast Asia Region.

Huawei in a statement said that David will oversee the company’s operations and be responsible for business development of the carrier, enterprise and consumer business groups across the region.

Sun has more than 17 years of experience in the telecom industry. Since joining Huawei in 1998, Sun held several management roles within the company, including chief representative of Huawei Hangzhou representative office, chief representative of Huawei Guangzhou representative office and sales director of network product line in China. He was also the vice president and head of carrier business group of the Southeast Asia region before assuming his current position in 2015.

Huawei has had a significant presence in the Southeast Asia region since 1997. David’s expertise gained from a long career in Huawei in a number of markets will help drive business development and strengthen the company’s market position in the region.
