Ericsson India revenue surges 81 percent to $423 million

Ericsson India sales in Q3 2015
Telecom network vendor Ericsson on Friday said its India revenue in Q3 2015 rose 81 percent to SEK 3.6 billion or $423 million.

Ericsson India generated SEK 2.4 billion from networks business, SEK 1.1 billion from global services and SEK 0.1 billion from support solutions.

India is the top three country in terms of revenue generation for Ericsson. United States brings 24 percent sale, China 7 percent, India 6 percent, UK 3 percent and Italy 3 percent revenue to Ericsson in the third quarter of 2015.

The high level of mobile broadband investments, which started in the beginning of 2015, continued in the third quarter with the main driver being mobile data traffic growth. The managed services business developed favorably as operators focus on network optimization and efficiency.

The number of employees in India fell to 21,343 in September quarter of 2015 from 21,353 in Q3 2015, said Ericsson India.
