EDIMAX unveils EU-4208 USB 2.0 fast Ethernet adapter

Telecom Lead Asia: EDIMAX Technology, a provider of
advanced network communication and IP surveillance products, has introduced a
new fast Ethernet adapter called EU-4208 USB 2.0.

The new Ethernet adapter is capable to provide give fast
Ethernet connectivity to ultra books, or any computer without an Ethernet port.

 

One plugged into the computer’s USB 2.0 port, the adapter
provides a stable 10/100Mbps Ethernet connection.

 

The adapter is backwards compatible with the USB 1.1
standard and also capable of working with Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7, as
well as Mac OS 10.x.

 

In addition, the adapter is compliant with IEEE
802.3/802.3u standards and supports 10/100Mbps auto-negotiation.

 

The EU-4208 is designed to use power efficiently,
preventing unnecessary power wastage. It consumes low power in idle mode and
low traffic conditions and it can be operated without any external power
adapter, as takes power over USB support.

 

The Edimax EU-4208 uses the USB 2.0 standard and is
capable of transferring   data at 480Mbps, ensuring full 10/100Mbps
Ethernet performance.

 

This is in contrast with older USB 1.1 adapters, which
only offer 12Mbps transmission speeds over USB.

 

The company claims that theEU-4208’s compact design makes
it easy to use in a crowded workspace.
