Digicel taps Stream Technologies for IoT strategy

Stream Technologies, a provider of connectivity solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), announced its deal with Digicel Group.

Digicel Group, a telecommunications provider with operational presence in 33 telecom markets in the Caribbean, Central America and Asia Pacific, aims to drive its Internet of Things (IoT) growth strategy.

As part of the IoT deal, Digicel will leverage the Stream IoT-X access connectivity environment to enable management of connected devices. Digicel aims to provide a solution that enables its customers to keep track of their businesses.

Some of the use cases include monitoring refrigeration levels at local grocery outlets, critical systems inside hospital buildings, or the location and mechanical fitness of a local taxi fleet.

ABI Research has earlier identified the IoT-X platform as “one of the most disruptive technologies to hit the IoT market in years,” in their report Hot Tech Innovators, released last month.

“Stream is delighted to be selected by Digicel Group as their strategic IoT partner,” said Nigel Chadwick, CEO of Stream Technologies.

“As Internet of things connections proliferate across our network, we are committed to providing optimal solutions for our customers,” said Digicel Business Group Director of Products, Martin Carroll.
