Ciena has reported more than 10 percent increase in revenue to $844.4 million with a net income of $45.8 million for its fiscal first quarter ended January 29, 2022.
“First quarter revenue grew more than 10 percent year-over-year and continued broad-based demand drove very strong orders growth in the quarter, providing us additional visibility for the fiscal year,” said Gary Smith, president and CEO of Ciena in a news statement.
Ciena has generated revenue of $626.6 million from Networking Platforms that includes $540.9 million from Converged Packet Optical and $85.7 million from Routing and Switching.
Ciena’s revenue from Platform Software and Services was $72.9 million.
Ciena’s revenue from Blue Planet Automation Software and Services was $21.1 million.
Ciena’s revenue from Global Services was $123.8 million.
Ciena said its revenue from Americas was 70.5 percent of the total global revenue and the balance 17.8 percent was from Europe, the Middle East and Africa and 11.7 percent from Asia Pacific including India and China.
Ciena generated 59 percent of the revenue from telecoms and the balance 41 percent is from non-telecoms including direct webscale, cable and enterprises.
