Australian Satellite Communications deploys iDirect Hub to support Daltron

Telecom Lead Asia: Satellite-based IP communications
technology provider VT iDirect announced that Australian Satellite
Communications (ASC) has selected a new Series 15100 universal satellite hub to
support a partnership with Daltron, an ICT solutions provider in Papua New
Guinea.

The satellite solution will enable Daltron to capitalize
on the significant need for broadband services in Papua New Guinea.

Evolution hub enables Daltron to offer business-class
broadband network that can efficiently support core corporate applications
including video, voice and data connectivity. Daltron will provide satellite
solutions to natural resources companies and corporate enterprises. It will
expand its offering to support education and disaster communications
applications.

“We wanted to work with a company that had the
experience, reputation, and managed service capabilities to get our network up
and running quickly and efficiently. It is a huge advantage for our customers
across the Pacific that we are able to implement a tried and tested solution.
In supporting enterprises in this region, it was also critical to use the most
reliable technology available. Partnering with ASC and iDirect, we got both,”
said Graham Rix, general manager, Daltron.

iDirect’s network management system, SatManage, provides
Daltron with in-depth visibility into network performance and operations,
helping the provider deliver a high level of service and responsiveness and
drive efficient operations.

“Recent government deregulation of
telecommunications in Papua New Guinea opened up a huge opportunity for Daltron
to expand its service portfolio and become the superior business-class
satellite service provider in the region,” Chris Joseland, managing
director, Australian Satellite Communications.

“With new growth opportunities emerging in
Asia-Pacific every day, iDirect is committed to helping our partners expand
their businesses and capture new customers,” John Arnold, regional vice
president – Sales, Asia Pacific, iDirect.

Turksat selects iDirect iDX 3.0 software to upgrade satellite
network

Recently, VT iDirect announced that Turksat, a satellite
operator in Turkey, has upgraded its satellite network with iDirect operating
software, iDX 3.0.

Turksat has enhanced its existing investment in iDirect’s
Intelligent Platform with the purchase of a new Series 15100 Universal
Satellite Hub, as well as Evolution X5 and X3 routers and Evolution line cards.
