MWC 2014: Broadcom picked up by Quanta Computer for LTE small cell solution

At MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress), Barcelona, Broadcom today announced that it was picked up by Quanta Computer for LTE small cell solutions.

Quanta Computer, a datacenter hardware solution provider and notebook computer ODM based in Taiwan, has selected Broadcom dual mode small cell system-on-chip (SoC) solutions to power its Qcell LTE small cell solutions for enterprise and residential deployments.

Broadcom’s integrated solutions allow Quanta to deliver high performance small cell solutions to the network operators and service providers.

The company said Broadcom’s BCM617xx dual mode small cell SoCs allow ODMs such as Quanta to reduce their overall bill of materials and dramatically reduce power consumption.

Broadcom’s dual-mode small cell SoCs allows carriers to optimize spectrum efficiency for an overall increase in network capacity and a smooth migration path from 3G to 4G/LTE.
