Vodafone ties up with Sony to offer mobile data with Xperia tipo smartphone

Telecom Lead India: Sony India launched Xperia tipo smartphone in the Indian market.

Vodafone has tied up with Sony to offer an exclusive offer of 500 GB per month for three months, with the offer being valid till 31st December 2012.

The Xperia tipo is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

The new smartphone features latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, expandable storage of up to 32GB and free 50GB cloud offer from Box.

The price of Xperia tipo Dual SIM is Rs 10,449. The single SIM smartphone is priced at Rs 9,999.

“We are happy to announce the intergration of Sony Mobile Communications India into Sony India. Mobile has been an integral part of the brand’s growth in India and we are working together to deliver products that are relevant for Indian consumers. With the Xperia brand, our aim has always been to innovate ahead of consumer demand,” said Kenichiro Hibi, managing director, Sony India.

“After the launch of Xperia NXT series earlier this year, we are now launching the phone that will reach out to entire India. We have expanded our Xperia range with Tipo – Sony’s first entry level price category smartphone under Xperia brand. Committed to the Indian market, these devices have been designed for selective markets; including India,” Hibi added.

Retailing in over 3,000 stores across the country, Xperia tipo tipo comes bundled up with pre-loaded apps such as Bollywood Hungama, Dainik Jagran, and Cricbuzz, on both – single and dual SIM devices. In addition to this, Xperia tipo users will enjoy access to appXtra, for exclusive access to music applications.
