Samsung Electronics announced the launch of three AI-capable Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra – priced between $799 and $1,299.
Snapdragon to power speed
Samsung Electronics has trusted customized Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for making Galaxy S25 5G smartphones for its premium customers. Samsung Electronics did not select MediaTek chipsets or rely on its own Exynos chipset.
Google to drive AI
Samsung is using Gemini, offered by Alphabet’s Google, as its default AI engine for the new Galaxy S25. The Galaxy S25 also features Samsung’s upgraded in-house voice assistant, Bixby. Samsung did not use OpenAI and other AI platforms for the new Galaxy S25.
Samsung, according to the latest Canalys report, has 16 percent share in the global smartphone market in Q4 2024.
AI features
Galaxy S25’s AI companion understands the context of needs and preferences and provides personalized AI experiences with privacy. AI agents with multimodal capabilities enable Galaxy S25 to interpret text, speech, images and videos for interactions.
Upgrades to Google’s Circle to Search make searching phone screen more helpful, fast and contextual. Circle to Search now quickly recognizes phone numbers, email and URLs on screen, letting call, email or visit a website with a single tap.
Galaxy S25 enables customers to perform actionable searches with context-aware suggestions for next steps. Plus, Galaxy S25 makes it frictionless to switch between apps for quick follow-up actions, like sharing a GIF or saving event details.
Galaxy S25 also introduces post-quantum cryptography, safeguarding personal data against emerging threats that could increase as quantum computing evolves.
Processing power
Galaxy S25 series is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, delivering a performance boost of 40 percent in NPU, 37 percent in CPU9 and 30 percent in GPU compared to previous generation.
Galaxy S25 features efficient AI image processing with ProScaler11 to achieve a 40 percent improvement in display image scaling quality.
Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is also equipped with Vulkan Engine and improved Ray Tracing, which makes for smoother and more realistic mobile gaming.
All intense device usage and AI processing run smoothly thanks to changed heat dissipation structure with 40 percent larger vapor chamber and a tailored thermal interface material (TIM) that delivers extra improvement in thermal efficiency.
Price control
Galaxy S25 uses a minimum of 50 percent recycled cobalt for its battery. Galaxy S25 will be the first Galaxy smartphone to feature batteries made with recycled cobalt sourced from previous Galaxy devices or the batteries discarded during the manufacturing process.
All Galaxy S25 devices will come with 6 months of Gemini Advanced and 2TB of cloud storage at no extra cost.
