The operating profit of SK Hynix for the year reached 23.47 trillion won, with an operating margin of 35 percent. Quarterly revenue grew by 75 percent year-on-year, reaching 19.8 trillion won in Q4, driven by strong demand for AI memory chips.

SK Hynix has achieved a record operating profit of 8.1 trillion won in the October-December quarter of 2024, exceeding Samsung Electronics’ forecasted profit of 6.5 trillion won.

SK Hynix said high Bandwidth Memory (HBM) technology played a critical role in the company’s performance, contributing over 40 percent of total DRAM revenue.

SK Hynix benefited from growing demand for AI-focused DRAM and NAND products as global tech giants invested heavily in AI infrastructure. SK Hynix emphasized its profitability-first approach, focusing on high-value products and flexible sales strategies.

To meet demand, SK Hynix plans to expand HBM3E supply, develop HBM4 technology, and transition to advanced DDR5 and LPDDR5 production processes.

Looking ahead, SK Hynix anticipates sustained growth in AI memory demand and a recovery in consumer markets for AI-enabled PCs and smartphones in the second half of 2025. The company’s focus on high-value products and timely supply has laid the groundwork for sustained profitability and resilience in fluctuating market conditions.
