Samsung selects Marvell 3G TD-SCDMA solution for android smartphone



Marvell, a provider of integrated silicon solutions, announced Samsung
has launched the new S5820, a China 3G TD-SCDMA Android smartphone for China
Mobile, equipped with social-networking, mobile gaming and mobile TV features.


Samsung’s latest smartphone is
powered by the Marvell PXA920 platform, the first commercially available
single-chip solution that integrates a high-performance, low-power application
processor with an advanced multimode modem, supporting China Mobile’s TD-HSPA
network.


It also features the Marvell Avastar 88W8787 wireless solution, which is
Bluetooth 3.0 and FM enabled, offering exceptional Wi-Fi range with beamforming
technology, robust 802.11n connectivity and crystal clear audio quality.


The phone is available now through the retail stores of China Mobile,
the largest mobile carrier in the world with over 650 million subscribers.
