LG smartphone sales reach 12.1 million in Q2

LG shipped 12.1 million smartphones between April and June. LG Mobile Communications posted revenues of KRW 3.12 trillion ($2.78 billion) in the second quarter of 2013, up 34.5 percent.

Operating profit increased to KRW 61 billion ($54.37 million).

LG’s operating profit declined from the previous quarter due to weaker demand in the Korean market, lower average selling price due to increased competition, and higher marketing investments.
