LG shipped 12.1 million smartphones between April and June. LG Mobile Communications posted revenues of KRW 3.12 trillion ($2.78 billion) in the second quarter of 2013, up 34.5 percent.

LG’s operating profit declined from the previous quarter due to weaker demand in the Korean market, lower average selling price due to increased competition, and higher marketing investments.
