Global semiconductor industry sales increased 18.3 percent to $149.9 billion during the second quarter of 2024, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said.
Semiconductor sales in June 2024 increased 1.7 percent to $50 billion compared to $49.1 billion in May 2024.
The global semiconductor market remained strong during the second quarter of 2024, with quarter-to-quarter sales increasing for the first time since the fourth quarter of 2021, said SIA President and CEO John Neuffer.
SIA said semiconductor sales were $12.79 billion in Americas, $4.18 billion in Europe, $3.78 billion in Japan, $15.09 billion in China, and $12.15 billion in Asia Pacific/All Other.
Regionally, the Americas led the growth charge with significant year-to-year sales increases in the semiconductor sector. China also posted a robust 21.6 percent growth in the semiconductor sector. The Asia Pacific/All Other regions saw a 12.7 percent rise in the semiconductor sector.
However, Japan and Europe experienced declines of 5.0 percent and 11.2 percent, respectively, in the semiconductor sector.
