Nivruti Rai, the head of Intel in India, has decided to step down after an impressive 29-year tenure at the chip-making company.
Nivruti Rai, who most recently served as the Vice President of Intel Foundry Services and the country head for India, played a crucial role in establishing Intel India as the largest engineering site for the company outside of the United States.
Intel India expressed its appreciation for Nivruti Rai’s contributions, stating that they will soon announce their plans for new leadership in the country. Nivruti Rai’s journey at Intel began in 1994 as a design engineer, and she held various positions during her extensive career.
Last year, Intel India inaugurated a cutting-edge design and engineering center in Bengaluru, which Nivruti Rai described as providing an exceptional environment for employees to foster innovation and collaboration. The center aimed to enhance Intel’s capabilities in developing groundbreaking products that drive customer innovation and growth.
India is home to Intel’s largest design and engineering center outside of the United States, featuring state-of-the-art facilities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. As of June last year, Intel had invested over $8 billion in India, demonstrating its commitment to expanding research and development and fostering innovation within the country.
