Global Semiconductor Industry Sales Reach $48 bn in 2023 November

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) unveiled the latest figures for global semiconductor industry sales, reporting a total of $48.0 billion in November 2023. This marks a notable upsurge of 5.3 percent compared to November 2022, which stood at $45.6 billion, and a 2.9 percent increase from the October 2023 total of $46.6 billion.
BE SemiconductorJohn Neuffer, President, and CEO of SIA highlighted the significant year-to-year surge in global semiconductor sales in November, marking the first such increase since August 2022. John Neuffer indicated that this uptick signifies a strengthening global chip market as the industry ventures into the new year. He further projected a robust double-digit growth trajectory for the global semiconductor market throughout 2024.

Analyzing regional trends, the year-to-year sales figures indicated a positive trajectory in several regions: China experienced a notable 7.6 percent increase, followed by Asia Pacific/All Other regions at 7.1 percent, Europe at 5.6 percent, and the Americas at 3.5 percent. However, Europe witnessed a slight decrease of -2.8 percent.

Assessing month-to-month sales changes, China showcased a 4.4 percent increase, accompanied by the Americas with a 3.9 percent rise and Asia Pacific/All Other regions at 3.5 percent. However, Japan reported a minor decline of -0.7 percent, while Europe faced a moderate decrease of -2.0 percent.

These statistics underscore the varying growth patterns across different regions, depicting a dynamic landscape within the global semiconductor industry.
