ZTE announces new heads for telecom equipment, enterprise, mobile device biz

Telecom equipment vendor ZTE announced new management team, bringing new heads for telecom equipment, enterprise and mobile device businesses.

Telecom operators, mobile devices and enterprise will be the three main focus areas in 2014.

ZTE will also focus on metropolitan public IT systems, new energy technology and mobile Internet, three emerging market segments.

As per the new management team, Zeng Xuezhong, executive vice president of ZTE, will head mobile devices business. It will be an independent unit of the company.

He Shiyou, executive vice president of ZTE and the former head of terminals, will remain as an executive director of ZTE.

ZTE’s enterprise business will be headed by Pang Shengqing, senior vice president of ZTE.

The Chinese IT vendor anticipates that rising demand for cloud-computing, big data, smart city and the Internet of Things will help drive growth in the company’s enterprise business.

Zhao Xianming, executive vice president of ZTE, will be chief technology officer of ZTE.

ZTE aims to be a market leader in 4G, and will pursue game-changing breakthroughs in development of 4G equipment, 4G semiconductors and 4G devices.

The new changes are in line with ZTE’s vision to become faster, more entrepreneurial, more youthful and more focused.

“We need to execute changes in our strategy, our organization and our culture in a responsive and timely way,” said Shi Lirong, president of ZTE.
