Huawei Technologies India gets CMMI Level 5 v1.3

Telecom equipment vendor Huawei Technologies India said it has been appraised at Level 5 v1.3 of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).

This assessment validates Huawei’s process capability based on the CMMI standards that measure process improvements, said Huawei Technologies India in a statement.

The research and development center of Huawei undertook this process transformation to enhance its R&D delivery capability to meet customer expectations of consistent faster and frequent deliveries, reduced time to market, besides high quality.

“The India center of Huawei will continue to deploy improved processes and systems to deliver more products and platforms with higher quality and performance to our customers worldwide,” said Wilson Wang, chief operating officer of Huawei Technologies.

The key aspects of CMMI level 5 v1.3 that the India R&D Center of Huawei has adopted in addition to the previous versions of CMMI process are – a quality management system solution for smooth coexistence of CMMI and Agile practices within one system, and selection and customization of high maturity practices/models for implementing quantitative management with linkage to consistent improvements in efficiency and quality of deliveries.

Huawei said an assessment at maturity Level 5 indicates that the organization is performing at an optimizing level. In addition, at this level, an organization continually improves its processes based on a quantitative understanding of its business objectives and performance needs.
