Vodafone leads net mobile additions, BSNL loses 1.3 million in July

Telecom service provider Vodafone is leading in terms of net mobile subscriber additions with 1.36 million users, while BSNL lost 1.3 million in July 2014, said TRAI.

The TRAI data for mobile subscribers in India showed that Vodafone added 11,05,817, Aircel 917,715, Uninor 853,873, Tata Docomo 613,741, Bharti Airtel 510,592 and Reliance Communications 503,986 in July 2014.

TRAI said total wireless subscriber base increased to 918.72 million in July, 2014 from 914.92 million in June, 2014.

Wireless subscription in urban areas increased to 540.44 million in July, 2014 from 537.56 million in June, 2014.

The wireless subscription in rural areas increased to 378.29 million from 377.36 million during the same period, TRAI said.

The shares of urban and rural wireless subscribers are 58.82 percent and 41.18 percent respectively at the end of July, 2014.
