BEAD Policy Shift Unlocks Faster Last-Mile Broadband with Existing Coax Networks

InCoax Networks AB highlights that the U.S. Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program, with a $42.5 billion budget, updated its rules on June 6, 2025, removing fiber preference and allowing flexible technology choices. This change enables the use of existing in-building coaxial networks in multi-dwelling units (MDUs) to deliver high-speed internet without new fiber installations. InCoax’s MoCA Access 2.5 technology uses these coaxial networks to provide multi-gigabit broadband speeds, offering a cost-effective solution for last-mile connectivity.

BroadbandOne partners with FulAir Wireless to provide fixed wireless broadband

BroadbandOne has partnered with FulAir Wireless to provide fixed wireless broadband in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and surrounding Gulf Coast oil and gas areas. The collaboration focuses on enhancing connectivity for industrial operations, including the Venture Global LNG terminal. The partnership addresses the need for reliable broadband in areas with limited infrastructure by deploying wireless networks that can adapt to shifting industrial sites.
