ZoomSafer unveils Safe Dial technology to assist fleet operators in the U.S.

Telecom Lead America: ZoomSafer has launched its
FleetSafer Mobile safe driving software, a distracted driving solution to
address compliance with the new U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration (FMCSA) guidelines.

According to new guidelines by the FMCSA and Pipeline and
Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), interstate truck and bus
drivers in America are not allowed to use hand-held mobile phones while
driving, with significant civil and financial penalties attached for both
individuals and motor carriers.

The company claims that FleetSafer Mobile with SafeDial
enables companies to ensure that employee drivers’ cell phone usage is
compatible with FMCSA regulations.

FleetSafer Mobile prevents texting and emailing while
driving. It also provides inbound and outbound call management in a manner
compliant with the FMCSA’s requirement that any mobile phone calls made while
driving be one-touch” and hands-free in nature.

The FMCSA’s ban on hand-held use of mobile phones while
driving is an important step forward in solving the serious issue of distracted
driving, but the rule provides employers with no guidance on how to foster
employee compliance,” said ZoomSafer CEO Matt Howard.
