Panasonic announces interoperability with Metaswitch Networks platform

Panasonic System Networks Company of America announced
certification for interoperability of the KX-UT series of SIP telephones with
Metaswitch Networks’ platform.

A provider of next generation communication carrier
systems and software solutions, Metaswitch Networks’ Mosaic Partner Program
provides a framework for third-party vendors to ensure solutions are certified
with the company’s platforms.

To achieve certification, Panasonic’s KX-UT series had to
pass a rigorous set of interoperability tests, encompassing basic
functionality, advanced calling features, scalability and reliability.

Panasonic’s new KX-UT series was introduced in August
2011 and offers a communications solution for small and mid-size businesses
that utilize the latest in Hosted and Open Source PBX technology.

Featuring wide-band, high-definition audio (G. 722 codec)
coupled with Echo Cancellation and an expanded acoustic chamber, the KX-UT
series offers crisp sound quality for crystal clear conversation.

In addition, the telephones feature built-in high-quality
speakers and microphones and select models are compatible with Plantronics’
line of DECT wireless headsets, making hands-free conversation convenient.

Models in the KX-UT series are designed to complement a
company’s existing communication infrastructure, yielding a low total cost of
ownership. Select models feature two data ports, so users can connect a second
network device without the time and expense of running an additional Ethernet
cable.

All KX-UT series models are Power over Ethernet (PoE)
ready which eliminates the needs for additional electrical adaptors. The
energy-saving Eco Mode offers lowered power consumption and a two-year limited
warranty protects a user’s investment well into the life of the phone.

“By working with an extensive array of solutions
partners we are able to expand the interoperability of our phone systems to
include a variety of network platforms and ensure our customers have a wide
range of options to meet their business communications needs,” said Bill
Taylor, president, Panasonic System Networks Company of America.

“Panasonic provides Metaswitch customers with the
advanced calling features and functionality needed to remain competitive while
offering the scalability needed to preserve the initial investment,” said
Ken Cavanaugh, director of business development for Metaswitch.

Panasonic System Networks recently announced that Brekeke Software has certified
the Panasonic line of SIP Cordless Phone Systems, the KX-TGP500 and KX-TGP550,
for use with their hosted telephony platform.

This alliance solidifies Panasonic’s global leadership in
the DECT cordless telephone market as well as Brekeke’s SIP-hosted telephony
platform which provides true multi-tenancy under one server.
