Next Level Security Systems, a developer of a new breed
of unified, networked security solutions announces Orange County, has deployed
the NLSS Gateway as a unified management platform for a security upgrade that
will incorporate multiple public safety sites.
Orange County is a growing municipality with a 2010
population of 1,145,956. A popular tourist and business destination, Orange
County is home to Walt Disney World Resorts, Universal Studios Orlando, Sea
World and the Orange County Convention Center.
County officials began searching for a security platform
to help manage disparate systems in facilities throughout the county, including
the Orange County Courthouse. Orange County also sought to leverage an IP-based
system to streamline communication, reduce complex integration and have the
option to remotely manage its security infrastructure remotely.
Orange County is focused on providing the highest level
of security to our residents, employees and visitors. We look to leverage
technology that helps us deliver the right information, to the right people, at
the right time.” said Peter Miller, chief security officer, Orange County.
Analytics allow us to provide more security, with less
staffing, saving money. We strive to provide low cost solutions that can run on
low cost maintenance with high quality returns,” added Miller.
Orange County is leveraging the NLSS Gateway to capture
video surveillance, run analytics and manage access control at county cell
towers, the courthouse and other facilities. The county also plans to expand
use of the system to its correctional facilities in the near future.
Information from the video and access systems is
immediately correlated through the integrated appliance approach, providing
users with a complete view of the overall system. Video analytics, built-in to
the NLSS Gateway at no additional cost, enable the county’s security and IT
teams to quickly identify potential security incidents, while Next Level Remote
Management Services (RMS) provides users with remote access and management of
the system from any Web-enabled device.
Overall, the system will manage a network of hybrid
analog and IP cameras, including Arecont Vision megapixel cameras. Captured
video is stored on an EMC storage platform.
Growing municipalities such as Orange County need
security solutions that are flexible and scalable, and the NLSS Gateway enables
the county to quickly and easily expand the security infrastructure as its risk
profile evolves,” said Peter Jankowski, chairman and CEO, Next Level Security Systems.
Furthermore, the integrated appliance approach provides
access to the entire security system, including integrated video and access
control, from a single user interface. When information from these systems is
immediately correlated, security teams are provided with the data needed to
make informed decisions to best enhance security and limit potential
incidents,” Jankowski added.
